SLS OCI '15

Post by Anonymous User » Tue Aug 04, 2015 2:25 pm

I have 9 Hs out of 14 with two prizes, no law review, and secondary journal. I'm an average interviewer with 2 years of WE. What's my likelihood of landing a DC firm? I'm most interested in Gibson, Wilmer, Covington, and W&C. Do I have any shot at all? My OCS person is not helpful.

I had an identical resume. Ended up with an offer from Wilmer, but did not get callbacks from the others. My guess is that you have a shot at all of them.

You're definitely competitive for Covington, Wilmer and Gibson, I'm not sure what that other poster could have meant. W&C probably a stretch.

Hey Stanford Law Students! Greetings from a 2012 alum.

Just a reminder that you can put this info into http://www.biglawrefuge.com. If you haven't heard of it yet, it's a platform for sharing anonymous job statistics. Do CBs happen over a couple of days or if people got them and you didn't can you assume you're out? Also, are they by phone or over email?

Pretty sure all callbacks are my phone. Previous years I've read they can occur over a few days, even from the same interviewer.

2 CB's today- A & P; Sheppard & Mullin, both SF
1 ding- Skadden (PA)

They may mostly be by phone, but email is definitely a possibility. (Susman's, for example, were apparently by email.)

The nearly simultaneous PA/DC reporting and double "don't remember" and the fact that there's only one of each makes it seem possible, at least?

Gibson LA told me not to start freaking out if a callback doesn't come immediately, as they are planning to make decisions next week. Lies.

that was the most sociopathic thing a firm has done imho. "We take a long time to determine whom to give callbacks to" *hands out dinner invites on the spot to certain people*

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
