Hey, I need feedback on interview answers. I am hoping to attend the Bay Area Diversity Fair having never lived in SF and without any ties to California. I was wondering whether it would be appropriate to say that my significant other and I were hoping to move to SF to be closer to her family. Is this a compelling enough answer?
If not, would it be inappropriate to mention that my family owns a very large tech corporation that is based out of California as a reason? I am worried about coming off as a spoilt but want to somehow suggest that I can maybe bring them in as a client in the future.
What is the best way to answer a ties to the area question?

Re: Interviewing in new city
Never explicitly say that you are hoping to bring them in as a client in the future. If this tech company is not the type to handle the size of legal fees that the firm you're interviewing with is charging, they'll laugh internally at you. If this tech company really is hot shit, then they don't need you to tell them that it's hot shit.
Just say you're interested in working closely with tech and that there's no better place in the US right now than the SV for the type of work that you want to do. Demonstrate your interest by explaining how tech "runs in your blood" or etc. Do mention that you see yourself settling down in SV for reasons x, y, z.
