JPMorgan 1L SA
Does anyone have any experience with this program or similar programs? Is it a pretty good experience even if you decide corporate/transactional work isn't what you want to do?
From what I understand they came to do a 1L Spring OCI at 4 different schools (including mine). Does anyone know which schools they interviewed at?
For my school, they did our CBs all on the same day, and it seemed like a lot of my classmates were there, so not sure if getting a CB improved anyones chances. Anyone know of people not getting a CB? For anyone who did receive a CB, have you heard anything about an offer?

1L SA for what? With the legal team? compliance? risk management? investment banking? sales and trading?
You didn't specify at all, since JP Morgan has a million summer programs, including a lot that will recruit JDs for non-legal and non-compliance roles.

It's for the legal department - not really an SA but rather a 1L in-house internship

Re: JPMorgan 1L SA
The came to Penn last Friday and called back some( I think 10) of the 31ish people the following Tuesday for an "interview day." I understand this is the first year they are doing it and it seems to me to be similar to their Chase Honors program that rotates throughout departments. I heard there are like 10 spots for NYC and Chicago.
I haven't heard about offers yet.

I interviewed for a paid 1L summer position at Morgan Stanley at Columbia last year. It seemed pretty cool, but mostly diversity focused. wound up taking a firm SA instead though.

Can anyone with a callback share their first semester grades?

For Penn OCI you had to submit an application online with grades even before the screener interview, and I believe they asked for them at the screening interview as well, but I can't remember for sure.Anonymous User wrote:They did not see my grades prior to the callback.Anonymous User wrote:Can anyone with a callback share their first semester grades?

Just curious how strict they were on the 3.6 or higher being preferred. Any info?Anonymous User wrote:For Penn OCI you had to submit an application online with grades even before the screener interview, and I believe they asked for them at the screening interview as well, but I can't remember for sure.Anonymous User wrote:They did not see my grades prior to the callback.Anonymous User wrote:Can anyone with a callback share their first semester grades?

You did have to submit the grades before the screener, but at Penn we already had to screeners lined up before that application had to be submitted. I did get asked for the grades at the callback but it did not come up during the screener.Anonymous User wrote:For Penn OCI you had to submit an application online with grades even before the screener interview, and I believe they asked for them at the screening interview as well, but I can't remember for sure.Anonymous User wrote:They did not see my grades prior to the callback.Anonymous User wrote:Can anyone with a callback share their first semester grades?
I did not have a 3.6 or higher, and if that's the case then I am probably getting dinged soon.Anonymous User wrote:Just curious how strict they were on the 3.6 or higher being preferred. Definitely don't have a 3.6Anonymous User wrote:Just curious how strict they were on the 3.6 or higher being preferred. The fact that I got a callback makes me think the 3.6 number is more of a company wide policy that they don't adhere to for legal internships. Since it's a bank most of their internships are for undergrad students looking to do be a summer analyst. So they either don't follow the 3.6 or I'll be getting a ding very soon too.

Has anyone heard anything yet in terms of an offer? Or know when offers are expected to start coming in?

At at least one of their "target" schools, screeners aren't until next week. I wouldn't expect any offers for at least a couple weeks considering it's a fixed-size program.Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone heard anything yet in terms of an offer? Or know when offers are expected to start coming in?

For these screeners, do they only contact you if they select you for CB, or will they let you know if they reject you as well?Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:How quickly did people hear back about CBs after screener? Thanks

No idea about contacting for a rejection, but also got a CB about 6 hours later. Screener was also on a Friday afternoon though, FWIW.Anonymous User wrote:For these screeners, do they only contact you if they select you for CB, or will they let you know if they reject you as well?Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:How quickly did people hear back about CBs after screener? How was the CB, for those of you who've had it already?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
