Re: 2013 UVA OGI Thread
95% sure it's the same mechanism as other interview rooms--14-15 preselects/alternates slots, remainder to lottery. as far as how the lottery works, i suspect KD is in there pulling some stringsAnonymous User wrote:anyone know how interviews for the later arrival OGI firms like Proskauer are determined? Pre-select, lottery or just specifically chosen by K. Donovan? Just got one and wonder what position I'm in. I have DC ties but my resume is oriented toward a different market.

Re: 2013 UVA OGI Thread
Go to Symplicity. Seriously. There are a lot of firms looking for summers that are posting there. You should look as far back as May and June, though there are even firms that posted as far back as March still taking applications. It costs you nothing to do send in an application via Symplicity.Anonymous User wrote:really stressed out and wanted to know how are other median/ below median people doing.

Second, start mass mailing. Have ties to a region near any secondary market? Mass mail all of the firms in that secondary market and express your undying love for that market/region. Even if you don't have ties, still mass mail. You're less likely to get a bite, but I know people who were able to break into several different markets without serious ties.
No one can predict how successful this strategy will be, but it is something within your control, and it will get your resume in front of a lot more firms that you know for certain are hiring right now.

Kinda crazy OGI only really benefits 25% of the class, and even then only maybe.Anonymous User wrote:Go to Symplicity. Seriously. There are a lot of firms looking for summers that are posting there. Is it really that bad for people even in the top 1/3 of the class? I feel like most people have at least one or two callbacks.

I have multiple friends who are below or at median that have received callbacks through OGI, and the process is not over. Keep gunning.
