2013 Vault Rankings

Post by D-hops » Tue Jun 19, 2012 11:05 am

2013 Vault rankings are out: http://www.vault.com/wps/portal/usa/ran ... gYear=2013

Welcome back to the V10 Latham, may your layoffs never again make people think you lack preftige.

This is clearly the most important thing in the world and the only thing you should base your OCI strategies on. Discuss.

Thank God. Now that Wiley Rein is in the V100 I can definitely apply. I didn't know if I could before.

I'm more worried about all the people that are going to get laid off at Latham just because it has now reached a prestige threshold.

Why does Cravath remain eternally at #2? By all accounts, working there is just as shitty as S&C and Skadden, and at least those two made some paltry attempt to increase the market bonuses.

The same reason objectively shitty Orrick outranks a ton of superior firms. It's all based on name recognition.

I think most people realize now that Chambers and Partners have the law firm rankings that actually matter.

Haha yeah...I'm in DC this summer and I've been seeing it everywhere.

Fair enough tho, I wasn't expecting much. Vault's descriptions are pretty solid, but the rankings seem useless.

Williams and Connolly, ranked 8th just two years ago, continues its descent to TTT-dom, dropping from 13 to 16.

I would've thought the MoFo meme would have kept them from dropping down a notch.

You think that shit's bad? You should see what's happening at MTO right now, bro. They're two steps from creating an Office of the Chairman after this tumble.

Beta bros at MoFo are literally getting laughed at by alpha Shearman associates who spend their extra prestige points on bottle service and blow.
