UCLA/UT/Vandy-->DC
Top 20-25% at UCLA/UT/Vandy, looking to get to DC. Family has ties to Newport News area, but not DC proper. Do I have a realistic shot at any firms and if so, which ones should I be aiming for?

This is OP. Any thoughts? For clarification, I go to Vandy if that helps.

I don't think you'll need ties. Many many people go to DC and NYC without ties. It's okay, you'll just have to explain why. So have a good answer.
As for which firms, I don't know. I think you'd have more success shooting for smaller DC biglaw firms. Think Crowell and Moring/Dickstein Shapiro, not hogan lovells.

Look brah, this "what are my chances" inquiry is pretty silly because we don't know what DC firms are at your OCI. And as to which ones you should apply to out of OCI, why not all of them, if you really want to work in DC.
