Sullcrom offer during my callback today, as seems to be the norm. Actually left with a very good impression of the firm and the people there. Pleasantly surprised by the callback experience, considering I was told there were lots of odd ducks there.

I haven't confirmed it, but there is a rumor going around at my NYC School that Stroock extended an offer to one of my classmates this week.

They are interviewing at least 20 people today and tomorrow so I wouldn't read too much into it.

Got an email from a partner I interviewed with at a CB two weeks ago saying that the firm will make a decision in the next couple days.

What does this mean? Does it mean I am still in the running? Or is this a "nice" way of telling me that I should expect a snail mail ding in my mailbox soon?

I would guess that you're still in the running.

Had a similar experience - got a call from a firm I'd interviewed at telling me that they were still in the process of making decisions. Ended up with an offer. Can't think of any reason they would spend the time to check in by email if they had already sent a ding.

Yep-- looks like a good sign. Same thing happened with me. The partner made it very clear that the hiring committee would meet soon and get back to me promptly. Got an offer the next day.
