Step 1) Find business card.Huluba23 wrote:Mock interviewer is a partner in a firm I am interested in. Gave me his business card. How to follow up??
Step 2) Hold business card up to face.
Step 3) Locate "contact information" on business card. If you're lucky, it will be the only information present.
Step 4) Use "contact information" to follow up with original donor of business card.
Step 5) Make partner.

Ok so maybe this is a stupid question but what would I send in a follow-up email?

Just say thank you to the person for taking the time to interview you. It was a pleasure meeting you, stuff like that

Seriously though, just shoot him an email or give him a call, after a decent amount of time has passed. (You don't want to be the crazy eager beaver who contacts him 5 minutes after you met). You just need thank him for participating in your mock interview and tell him how helpful it was. Then say you are interested in whether his firm has a summer program, and ask to whom you should send a resume. If you do get a chance to apply/send your resume to someone at his firm, just send another follow-up email thanking him for the information about the summer program, and letting him know that you applied. (a phone call might be weird for this second follow-up). That's all you have to do.Huluba23 wrote:Mock interviewer is a partner in a firm I am interested in. Gave me his business card. Does it matter that this firm is coming to OCI and I didn't bid on them?

Re: Mock Interview Follow-up
Yes, because it makes the whole "how do I apply to work at your firm?" question a little silly. Can you bid on them or is it too late? The optimal way to play this would be to bid, and then let him know that you are excited to see that his firm is coming to OCI and you hope to get a chance to interview... if it's too late to bid, you could try telling him that you're interested in the SA program at his firm and ask where you should send a resume, without addressing OCI at all.Huluba23 wrote:Thanx for this. Oh well. You should still try to get your resume over there. This might sound dumb but keep in mind- he wouldn't have given you his contact information if he didn't want to hear from you. Confidence!Huluba23 wrote:Too late to bid.
