I think 7-8 average is a bit high. I would say more like 4-6. What do you all think?

I would guess 6-8 was the average that people I know had as of yesterday.

Really depends on the location. People are definitely doing better in NYC than CA, for instance. That might be because of the rumored time delay in getting back to people for CA firms, but it still seems like there's a good-sized callback gap based on geography.

Not sure if 7-8 is high for NY, but it's on the higher(ish?) end for CA.

From what I've gathered from my friends, some are like 0-2 and some are 10+. I've met few in the middle, but maybe that's just coincidence.

Last year, for NY, 6-8 cbs was the norm. You guys should be doing better.

Also, for Philly it definitely seems to be feast or famine. I know of at least 4 people, myself included, who have Philly ties and I suppose whatever else they are looking for, and have 8-10 Philly CBs, and others who did at least some interviewing for Philly and have 0-2.

Anonymous User wrote:Did Quinn Emanuel give everyone an invite to the dinner at Pod? They said it was "invite-only," but I wasn't sure if that meant they handed it out to everyone that interviewed, or just a select few.
They invited only those to whom they are giving callbacks. Other schools' threads have indicated they may extend callbacks to some people who were not invited to a dinner.

I heard back from most of my CA firms within 2 or 3 days if not sooner. I think the issue there is that there are simply fewer CA firms and it was harder to land a spot in the lottery since they don't have as many spots as the NY firms. I ended up with around 8/9 and have heard answers from all except one.

I wound up with the same numbers for CA, [edit: assuming you meant you got 8 or 9 CBs, not 8 or 9 interviews] but have yet to hear back from >15 CA firms. One of my regionals took over ten days to get back to me. Admittedly, at least six of the ones I haven't heard from have already done one round of callbacks, but I also know I made it past one round of dings for a few places. Even going back just three days though (firms that interviewed the 23rd), that's still 7-ish California firms theoretically out there.

I'm not saying callbacks are going to start flooding through the doors for CA people, just that it's possible to still snag one or two more.

Ohh, previous CA poster here -- no I did mean 9 screening interviews. 6 separate LA regionals I hadn't counted before. I know where I stand with callbacks or dings with all except one and heard really quickly, but I'm sure the others are just slower or on a different schedule like you said (especially San francisco -- I'm not interviewing there at all). I have friends still waiting on CA firms I didn't interview with.
