I bet you have career services office that could give you much better information than anything you'll get on TLS.

Exactly. But from what I've been told, depending on where you are aiming/where you are from, it's not out of the question. A lot of it will require things like networking, attending minority job fairs, and not relying on OCI. And of course you still have this semester to bring your grades up--the most important factor in all of this.

How did you end up there? Not being funny, I'm trying to get some tips on what can potentially be distractions or insufficient study methods.

It doesn't work like that. Anything can lead to being bottom 25 percent, just like anything can lead to being top 25 percent (well for the latter you do have to actually take the final exams).

Maybe other career services offices are different than mine. I've found my career services office to be a source of fantastically unhelpful (and often downright misleading) advice.

You have a shot if you're bottom 25% 3.12 rather than bottom 25% 2.6

Nearly all CSO's have detailed statistics on callback and offer rates for various subsets of their student bodies (e.g., grade deciles, minorities, law review members, etc.), and they are nearly always willing to share. You just have to ask. It's not difficult.

Really? I'm sure that they have that data, but they would have to admit that they categorize by race to provide you with that info so I was under the impression that they don't give it out or concede collection of it.

You always have another semester. Focus on doing well there, and if you have a very strong semester you'll probably have a chance. Worrying about big law in the middle of spring semester isn't going to do you any good, because basically the only thing you can do to help yourself at this point is make good grades this semester.

Asked and answered. My career services office apparently doesn't track callback and offer rates. As someone considering a transfer, it makes weighing my options more difficult.

I can't for the life of me imagine why they don't have those statistics. My only guess is that the numbers are so bad, they don't bother. :|
