Has anyone else not done any school work yet?

Post by Anonymous User » Fri Sep 10, 2010 12:05 am

I feel like I'm so wrapped up into the OCI process and will be for another month. Is anyone just not into school work right now?

How do you guys focus on school right now? I honestly stress about callbacks during class.

I've been trying, but I'm definitely behind in many of my courses. It concerns me a bit, but I figure I'll just shut myself up in my apartment for a while and catch up... soon...

I'm behind in...all...my classes. I can't even think about the subject during class.

My school finished OCI weeks ago, and most people have finished their CBs at this point, so work is fairly manageable (plus, we just started classes this week).

I haven't even opened two casebooks yet, and for my other two courses I've read fewer than half of the assigned cases so far. Thankfully I'm done with this interview process, but between journal cite checks and moot court, I'm not sure when I'll catch up. I had always heard that fall semester of 2L is more work than 1L, but I never understand why until now.

At Penn, our classes don't start until Monday. A lot of people have been able to get their CBs done with already (this week is set aside for CBs), but I haven't been so lucky -- mine are all at the end of September and I'll have to miss a couple days of class. But most people here shouldn't have any problems with OCI/job hunt distracting them from school work.

At Mich we had OCI a week earlier than you guys and the week after that off for callbacks. Problem is, most firms, at least in certain markets like NY, can't schedule callbacks that early...so basically many people end up ditching 1-2 (possibly 3?) weeks of class.

Awesome anonymity, everyone.

I definitely have been distracted this semester, that's for sure. I figure once this is all over I'll crack down. Maybe.
