This has got to be a joke. $0 is TCR.

Vodka and gin can be replaced with water. Whiskey can be replaced with tea. Have fun.

I retract my previous statement. TCR is to call ahead of time and request all the pillows be replaced with tempur-pedic pillows.

Many modern minibars have at least some sort of charge based on opening the door at all. More advanced ones have motion/weight detectors on the places where the bottles were sitting.SBL wrote:Vodka and gin can be replaced with water. Whiskey can be replaced with tea. Have fun.

So is abstinence. But I think OP was looking for something more along the lines of indulging himself while wrapping his tool.steve_nash wrote:$0 is always safe.

Related question (i.e., "spending firms' money for CB's"), but didn't want to start a new thread: if you schedule two CB's back-to-back days, do you just split the airfare between the two firms? Haven't had mine yet, so I don't know how this works.
Also, is there any notion this year re: the % of CB's that result in offers? % of screeners that result in CB's?

One of the CB firms needs to be the "host". Whoever you schedule with first will usually direct you to their travel agent to book the flight directly. Clear it with them first to split with another firm, but they will be happy to be paying less. On the NALP Reimbursement Form, which most firms will provide you or which you can find easily on the web, you designate which firm is the host.MrKappus wrote:Related question (i.e., "spending firms' money for CB's"), but didn't want to start a new thread: if you schedule two CB's back-to-back days, do you just split the airfare between the two firms? Keep track of all receipts.
Regarding %s, I've been operating under the 30%/30% rule, but I don't think there's enough data yet to say for sure.

Thanks for the answers.
P.S. What's the 30/30% rule?

This makes me miss the good old days when Getting Drunk in First Class had good articles, like those about shnaps in the client's bathroom. Some of their ancient articles would help with this dilemma, no doubt.
That said, mini-bar? What are you, antisocial? Go downstairs, hit the real bar, and tell everyone about your crazy good LSAT score.

30% of screeners lead to callbacks, 30% of callbacks lead to offers.MrKappus wrote:Thanks for the answers.

Both are conservative and were largely borne out last year. Until we hear otherwise, I think things are going roughly the same this year.

Wow, that's what I figured 30/30 meant, but I always thought you had a better shot (at least slightly) once you got the CB. Not as happy about the CB's as I was before. Oh well.

Correct this silly little 1L if he's wrong, but I was under the impression that at a lot of firms (certainly not all), a CB usually leads to an offer. I'm very surprised to hear someone say that your odds of getting an offer after a CB is the same as getting a CB after a screen.wiseowl wrote:30% of screeners lead to callbacks, 30% of callbacks lead to offers.MrKappus wrote:Thanks for the answers.

It's likely somewhere in-between. There's no way to know the firm calculus this year in spending CB $$$ vs. hiring needs. It's not as rosy as you say in "a CB usually leads to an offer", thats certain. It's also likely better this year than 30%. Won't know for sure til October.
