For a regular OCI, what percentage of pre-selects turn into call-backs? Sorry if this question makes no sense, I'm trying to get an idea of how many of these "pre-selects" will turn into a real interview.

Yup, they're up. I got 9 pre-selects and 4 alternates. One of the alternates I'm ranked 16, ftw - is this firm really expecting that many no-shows. But I'm pretty happy with this.

To the 9-pre selects guy, that's badass, what're your stats/background/school?

I have 8 preselects and 5 alternates, 2 of which are in the top 5. I just wanted to have enough to make the trip, and I think this qualifies.

Wow, 9 pre-selects, 8 pre-selects, what schools are you guys from? What are your undergrads, and law school stats? That's pretty awesome given that this is not even your school's OCI.

My first semester I had a 3.71 at St. John's (it went down in spring a bit but not significantly). Undergrad in EE, 5 years work experience in the software industry.

In my bids I targeted New York firms, and then just spread the rest of the bids around in a semi-random fashion to Boston, DC, LA and SF/Silicon Valley. Of the interviews, 5 are kind of all-round BigLaw, and 4 are IP boutiques. 4 are NY, 3 firmwide, 1 boston and 1 LA. The alternates I'm ranked 1, 8, 16, and no rank for the fourth.

Personally, I'm glad. I very much doubt I could get 9 of these kinds of interviews at the St John's OCI.

I have 6 pre-selects. T10 law school, EE with grad and work experience. But I put N.A. for my law school GPA because my school does not rank. Not sure if that had any effect.

9-preselects guy here again, I do have to admit that I struck out with the prestigious firms like Covington, though my BigLaw interviews are in the Vault 25-50 range. The IP boutiques are not surprising since I do have very good grades and work experience and they don't care about law school prestige.

So the way this works I guess is that if they like you in Chicago you get called back to the firm for a more involved all-day interview? If I were to get the one in LA, say, would I get flown out?

by the way, did anybody already get interviews for mayer brown, paul hastings, or other firms that we had to bid on after resume submission was closed?

Exciting! I feel like I've been waiting forever.

29 bids. 18 pre-selects. 1 alternate.

T20, EE/CS, WE, GPA top ~10%.

My GPA dropped big time after I submitted my bids, so I wonder how that'll affect getting callbacks.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
