The admissions office also maintains a list of students who are interested in finding a roommate. To be added to this list, please email admissions@law.villanova.edu or call 610-519-7010. This list will be emailed to deposited students beginning in May.scaredstiff165 wrote:Is there a roommate list for Villanova?

It's official for me. I'm excited about the new building!
Anyone bringing a car? I'm still debating.

Good to see so many names/avatars I know here! I really hope at least a few of us somehow end up in the same section. It'd be nice to "know" someone right off the bat.
I'm definitely bringing my car. I'm still undecided if I'm going to commute from my parent's house or get an apartment. I know if I get an apartment, I'm going to put myself even further into debt...but I know if I stay at home at the beginning, it's going to be a hassle with driving and feeling detached from the school and the majority of the students.
I feel like if I could somehow get some more scholarship money (from Nova, or outside), I would be much much more willing to pay the money to live close-by. But, that said, either way, I'm bringing my car.

Dear Lord, are you guys insane? I hope none of you are spending a dime of your own money to attend that dump. Check out this kids from sunday's frant-page Phila. Inq. story:

You kids have no idea. There is NO market for graduates of Tier 2 schools outside a tiny handful of top "gunners." Read jdunderground and http://temporaryattorney.blogspot.com/
Think long and hard about paying back that debt on a 40 K salary, because if you find a job at all that's likely to be your salary.

But I'm down with the drinks part.
Also--for those of you who were offered money, what do you think about the 3.25 GPA requirement?

Re: Villanova Law Class of 2012!
i think i don't like it, but when i e-mailed to see if i could talk it down in light of more money/lower GPA requirement at a peer school, they gave me more money (i've never gotten lucky like that about anything in my entire life, i swear) but wouldn't budge on the 3.25. so i guess it's something we'll have to deal with.
and i don't have a place, per se, but i've looked at 6 or so and have put in 2 rental applications. i'm a little bit picky, so i figured it wouldn't hurt to get started early.

Re: Villanova Law Class of 2012!
Just sent my deposit in yesterday...looking forward to it.
I am also in need of housing, but don't plan on moving in until beginning of August. I do not have a vehicle and do not really want to get one. If you're looking to live either within walking distance to the campus, or walking distance to a train stop (one or two stops away closer towards philly) let me know.
First things first - gotta get Phish tour out of the way!
Anyone looking for a roomate...shoot me an email:

Congrats! I tried negotiating for a higher scholarship (although honestly, my other offers weren't all that much higher than Nova gave me) and got shot down. They pretty much told me that they thought I was getting a pretty good deal as is. Which I am considering my GPA...but still, I had to try.i think i don't like it, but when i e-mailed to see if i could talk it down in light of more money/lower GPA requirement at a peer school, they gave me more money (i've never gotten lucky like that about anything in my entire life, i swear) but wouldn't budge on the 3.25. so i guess it's something we'll have to deal with.

Congrats to everyone. Don't listen to the negative comments on this board.
Today, in the cafeteria, there were 10-20 of the top national and Philadelphia-based firm with stations, talking to students and expressing a genuine interest. All of these firms will be here in the fall, recruiting our students. Law school is a big decision but Villanova is definitely a legit choice.

I haven't yet. Where do you get them? I have however been using my Villanova Law mug and pen (from the ASD) a lot lately!
I'm thinking of putting a deposit on an apartment by next week (I hope). The Radnor House would turn out to be REALLY cheap if I found 2 roommates. $1300 a month + utilities for a three bedroom. AMAZING.
