Late December. UT will email you their status checker, asking you to log in using a UTEID. That's how I found out I was complete. It seems, at least in my experience, that this email goes out when your file is complete.gogators wrote:When did you apply?jdn012 wrote:That's awesome news for you guys that have decided!
I'm still waiting to hear from UT. Just got the complete email though on Friday so it'll probably be another few weeks.

GPA's about a 3.7, and it looks like almost everyone on LSN with similar numbers got the 120k. I have a package waiting at the post office, but can't get it til Monday. Ahhhhhhh!
Oh yeah, I'm out of state if that matters.

Dude, those stats are ridiculous. I would be surprised if you didn't get a great offer from UT money-wise.SoberHobo wrote:GPA's about a 3.7, and it looks like almost everyone on LSN with similar numbers got the 120k. Re: Texas Class of 2012
CO residency right now, and money is kind of a big issue for me. This was my first acceptance, but I pretty much blanketed the t-14, with the exception of Yale, Stanford, NU, and Cornell. I'm originally from Michigan, so I'm interested there, and UVA looks good too. It might come down to whoever makes the best offer though. The wait...Esc wrote:I would be shocked if they didn't send at least some money your way, although being out-of-state may affect what offer you get. A lot of out-of-state people have been offered the $7k/year Townes-Hall Scholly and in-state tuition, which brings the total tuition and fees cost to $16k/year.jdn012 wrote:Dude, those stats are ridiculous. May I ask what state you are from and what other schools you are seriously considering?

Re: Texas Class of 2012
So, I haven't quite made up my mind yet. I'm waiting for the scholarship offer, but I got the admission packet today and I like what I see.
I was wondering if any of you had submitted the photo that's required for enrollment. Do other schools require this? Did you get a nice professional shot, wearing a jacket and tie? I don't currently own a jacket.... or a tie. It just says it goes in your law school record, but gives no details.

That photo isn't for the student ID. You have to go get that when you get here. The photos are for the professors, if they want to look up photos of you for whatever reason, to memorize names, &c. They don't really use them for anything that I've seen. & the "as long as you don't look like you slept in a dumpster" standard sounds like a good benchmark to use for this, haha.

I'm not sure what those photos are for. I've seen the photo they supply to professors for rosters, and it's the photo from my student ID, not the one I sent in.

Re: Texas Class of 2012
So I just just got the Dean's scholly yesterday- 15k/yr plus instate tuition- a $92,000 dollar value. I'm pretty happy with it and it makes Texas my top choice right now, but I was wondering, and someone had brought this up earlier on another post..... is there a chance that I will get a better offer later, considering many people who've been offered the full ride will end up withdrawing? Or do I have to bargain for it once I receive an offer from another school? I was hoping they just go down the line of applicants and redistribute automatically when more money becomes available.

Re: Texas Class of 2012
Thanks guys. I would love to have this goddamn admission process over now and just send in my UT seat deposit, but I have to wait to hear from everyone else. My profs would kill me if I didn't. Still, I've heard nothing but good things about UT and I would love to join you guys next fall.

Re: Texas Class of 2012
Do you think it's worth it to hold out until after ASW to commit to Texas, since they may not have all of the Townes-Rice offers extended until then? I'm not sure if it would make a difference... I feel like they're less inclined to extend any offers once you're committed.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
