Me too I keep checking wolverine access every day with the same hope I had every day that I checked the status checker site a few months ago.summertimechi wrote:i'm jealous of students at other schools who know their section/class assignments already...
This whole law school process is trying to teach me patience - and it's not working. haha.

Just imagine when it comes time to be checking for grades. Every semester, I fake myself out by thinking that somehow, someway those grades might pop up earlier.
Sadly, each and every semester Wolverine Access manages to let me down.

So far,
Waiting for LS decisions = Waiting for Grades >>>> Waiting for LSAT Score >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Waiting for Section Assignment.
FWIW, I think everyone knew their section assignment before MAP last year. It's so funny how it becomes such a LARGE part of your identity in school.

People have started thinking about sections? Hmm, I think I'm in denial.

Year before, we found out during MAP... toward the end. It was right after our oral arguments, everyone was looking them up together outside room 100 (the auditorium).tl wrote:

Does Michigan allow students to work during 1L? Is the policy written down somewhere? I couldn't find it on their site or in the student handbook. Thanks!

No, working during 1L is against ABA guidelines......OMG I just made an actual helpful comment….. And what happened then? They say in TLS that that Chewbacca’s Defense’s heart grew three times that day.

I thought ABA limited work during 1L but didn't ban it. Do you have a link?Chewbacca Defense wrote:No, working during 1L is against ABA guidelines......OMG I just made an actual helpful comment….. Yeah, I think that is ABA policy. I gave up on finding the UM policy via TLS and emailed the Student Affairs office. I'll let you guys know what I hear back.Merriweather wrote:20 hrs a week max, all 3 years.

Did you find it hurt your grades? Deprived you of social life? I'd be very interested in hearing about your experience, # hours worked, type of job, etc if you are willing to share.Merriweather wrote:but don't do it

I have what is probably a stupid question. Do I sign up for direct deposit using the Direct Deposit link under the Payroll and Compensation section of Wolverine Access? Or is there a separate link for direct deposit related to loans?

Are any out-of-state residents switching their driver's license/vehicle registration to Michigan? I'm leaning towards doing it, so I won't have to deal with renewal/inspections/etc in my old state that I'm no longer tied to...but I'm curious if there are any major cons that I'm missing?

Anyone else getting a Netbook for school?
My laptop is a great computer, with one drawback: The connection to the battery has issues. So basically, it's a PC in the shape of a laptop.
I think I'm going to pick up one of the Toshiba laptops with their Atom Processor - I've heard good things, it has a 9 hour battery life, and a full size Apple-esque keyboard. 400 bucks this week at Best Buy? Sold.

Forgive my ignorance, as i've never dealt with that before---what does it entail?Merriweather wrote:NO-FAULT INSURANCEsafari wrote:Are any out-of-state residents switching their driver's license/vehicle registration to Michigan?
