A) DC. BigLaw to start, but eventually I'd like to get into lobbying.
B) Corporate/Commercial law in either ATL, Nashville, Raleigh/Charlotte, Charleston, or some other southern city.
or
C) Win the powerball.

I will probably stay in Chicago with all my family and friends but I would be willing to consider Colorado or Arizona if U of A or U of C take me. I like both those states from what I can tell from visits.

I'm also in the Central Valley, and it confuses me as to why anyone would WANT to end up here. I can't wait to get out.LShopeful1 wrote:jrh wrote:CA's Central Valley doing public interest work that doesn't involve Legal Services Corp. Re: Where do you wanna end up?
i'd love to practice in either DC or NYC...
i'm leaning towards public sector work. the main reason why i want to go to law school is to defend/uphold/implement (or whatever other relevant verb) anti-discrimination/equal employment opportunity laws and policies... found a bunch of interesting positions with the government. ultimately, i'd like to be the chair of the EEOC

Re: Where do you wanna end up?
I would love to end up in Seattle or Portland...NYC, Chicago, or Boston would be my second pick. I just hope I get into the University of Washington or a top 14 so this can actually happen.

Wouldn't mind HK/Shanghai, but would really want to go spend some time in Japan. Did a 3-year stint in China, so that's probably a more realistic place to end up.como wrote:That's cool. Haha. I totally get you where you coming from. If I were to live anywhere in the Central Valley, it would be Fresno. I could not imagine myself living anywhere else in stinky cow town.OutofBako wrote:I'm also in the Central Valley, and it confuses me as to why anyone would WANT to end up here. Teaching and writing books at some well-respected school. Like to live in a smaller town with decent CoL, so I can afford a big-ass yard with a gigantic garden (and a greenhouse!).

Re: Where do you wanna end up?
Austin or Houston (because i am from there) biglaw. I actually wouldn't mind midlaw in either because the COL is not bad.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
