I just let everyone know I won't be around in the Fall. At this point, they all expect it.

Bittersweet. I had 2 dream careers growing up, and this was one of them... Now, I'm off to pursue the other one!

This is my last official week.

I have tons and tons of work to do, and yet so far today I have been completely incapable of productivity. My brain has moved on.

I let my firm know I'd be leaving at the end of August this morning.

Another 4 weeks and I'm done.

No, that's EDT. The world doesn't revolve around this place.

And why are you including weekends? Do you work on weekends? :x

16 Days, 7 Hours, 21 Minutes - California Time . . . wait - Pacific Time. I'm finding a negative correlation between my billable hours and the time I have left.

I have about less then a month left and it's really quite amazing how my productivity curve is just dropping like a rollercoaster, but not at dramatically or else it would be too noticable, more like a boring rollarcoaster.

I'm trying to decide when to leave my job. School starts on August 24th, but there's a mandatory 4-day orientation the week prior. It would be nice to have more than a long weekend between leaving work and starting orientation/school, but I'm not sure if I can afford it.

I'm kind of freakin' out here, because I have been working and earning a steady paycheck for seven years. Not sure how my financial aid is going to pan out, but I am going to have to cut costs a lot.

I have a lot of projects on my plate right now, and I'm working thorugh with the bosses how we're going to handle this transition. bleh

If it is any consolation, I'm sure your job is both more fulfilling and better paying than mine.

I think you would be shocked at how dirty working in legal recruiting is...

Finding people jobs is fulfilling, unfortunately, it is also a rare occurrence in this economy. The last few placements I've made have been : 2 partners with substantial billings and a CFO at a large law firm.

Also, attractive candidates are those that are already employed, so I more call people and try to get them to move than find people that are unemployed jobs.

Aren't you an engineer? Numbers are fulfilling, right?

I don't work as an engineer for one, and I don't really like math that much anymore.

Mind if I ask what your occupation is? I don't know why I had you filed away under that Rayiner group...

OK, I did it. I turned in a letter of resignation. This is really weird, as I have worked in this office for over six years. I am really going to miss it. Last actual day of work is August 7. Crazy.

Gave my month's notice yesterday. Our company is on a hiring freeze, so my boss is kind of freaking out trying to determine how he is going to take over management of my team.

Kind of nervous about moving on, but confident that its the right thing to do.

Best of luck to everyone!
