Hello everyone.
Could someone please confirm that writing a 'why statement' to a top-5 school is a bad idea?
Are there any circumstances that make it worthwhile? Maybe a demonstrable commitment to a unique program at a certain school, or family living around the school? Im probably over-thinking. I can't imagine the admissions committees would care about that stuff, but I'd love some feedback.
Thank you.

Re: Quick 'why statement' question
I don't see why it would hurt, as long as it's sincere. It might be better to mention your interest in a unique, school-specific program as a paragraph in your PS (that is, assuming the focus of that program is somehow related to your PS topic).
