Yield protection?

Post by Tx878 » Tue Feb 14, 2017 3:59 pm

Is this an actual thing? I just got waitlisted at Alabama. My numbers are very solid for them and I've been accepted to some higher ranked schools. Is this yield protection? I'm not super serious about it but potentially wanted it on the table

That is quite possible. Yield rates contribute to rankings, so law schools sometimes waitlist people who they feel would most likely go elsewhere (and therefore negatively impact yield rates)

Not enough information. Alabama has a very small class - they could be near full at this point, or you could be a bad fit. Lots of reasons to get WLd. If its YP and you want to go, they'll probably let you in, you just need to make it clear you want it. Sounds like thats not the case, though.
