Help! Any thoughts on my situation?

Post by vmxnn » Thu Jan 12, 2017 3:10 pm

Background:
1. Foreign undergraduate, 3.84/4 gpa, top 1%, tons of awards, LSAC somehow give me AA ranking for my Ugpa, thats fine.
2. US graduate school, master degree, 3.2/4 gpa. tons of awards.
3. lsat:158
Live in the US now, I really want to get into T20 Law school, especially, UT Austin. But Im pretty sure my LSAT is really terrible. I might get in a local T40-50 school with really good employment rates.
So, I plan to take classes and retake on June. But Im not sure If I want to apply this cycle. I don't know if transfer is a good idea. So, do I find a job now and wait for next cycle or just go ahead and apply this cycle and transfer. Im 27 now, dont have time to waste.

Take your time, study, & retake. Not worth going to a lower ranked law school or paying sticker for a T20.

To be sure I understand, is one of your proposed options to go to a lower-ranked law school and transfer up? Don't matriculate planning to do that - most people don't end up with the grades to make it possible, and you probably will get little or no financial aid from the school you transfer into.
