Quarter vs. semester system GPA

Post by sideout09 » Wed Jun 10, 2015 5:04 pm

I went to a semester system college, but I took a number of courses at various other colleges prior. Some of these classes were quarter. Is the GPA calculated differently for these classes? Or is it purely based on the number of credits? I think http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 2&t=241015 is a similar thread, but the few responses seem split between same worth (no conversion necessary) and needing conversion to the system of the institution from which the person graduated. Any insight (with links, if possible) would be much appreciated.

Yes, they are calculated differently.

Quarter credit hours are multiplied by .667 to convert them to semester credit hours.
