Departmental Exam Grade, Does it Count on LSAC GPA

Post by rigoding » Wed Oct 30, 2013 4:00 pm

I went to an ivy and graduated in a department that had a departmental comprehensive exam. On my official transcript, you can see my letter grade (B) and that the grade counted for no credits. In other words, the exam grade didn't count towards my school overall gpa. It was only used to determine honors within a department. Do you think LSAC will count this in the GPA?

Best way to find out: submit your transcript to LSAC and see what your LSDAS says.

If there were no credits attached to it then I would stick my neck out and say no. Mathematically there's no way to weigh how much that B is worth in relation to your other grades so there's no way to calculate GPA off of it. But only way to find out for sure is to send in the transcripts

Thanks, just got my LSAC GPA. It didn't count, apparently.
