Re: Sexual Misconduct Addendum
I did some pretty retarded shit (got arrested by undercover cops dressed like hippies at a reggae concert on the afternoon of the same day I went to court for a previous marijuana arrest), and I don't think it made the slightest difference in my cycle. The most important thing is to accurately disclose all the details so that everything is consistent when you apply to the bar. And don't make excuses or try to explain what you were thinking at the time. Be factual and write a sincere sentence or two saying that you regret your mistakes and have moved on.
Please share what you did. I admit I am only asking because I find these kinds of stories entertaining.

Re: Sexual Misconduct Addendum
What do you mean by "sexual misconduct"? If we are talking about over the clothes hand to ass contact, then you might find a non-accredited school that would be willing to take your money. However, if you were caught finger-banging some drunk chick during a freshman orientation mixer, then you'll be lucky if you can land a third shift position at an airport glory hole. Since a suspension seems to be a bit draconian for a isolated incident of grab ass, I will assume that you are a digital rapist. You sicken me.

I can't comment on how this would affect you at the da's office, but the general consensus is that law schools don't care at all. Just be accurate with the details because the bar's character and fitness committee will be comparing your law school application against the more detailed bar application.

FWIW, Tulane admitted a convicted murderer. (After he completed his sentence, obviously.)

I know of this guy who wasn't a well-healed college guy and he went to jail for "assuming the girl gave consent" when in fact the girl failed to give consent.

No, my trolling skills are spot on. Most of the punks on TLS couldn't troll their way out of an undergrad sexual misconduct hearing.Shmoopy wrote:Dude, your trolling is too over the top. 140Buck.Shot wrote:What do you mean by "sexual misconduct"? I haven't gone through the process yet so I can't say for sure, but my understanding is that most things that happened when you were young and that don't involve fraud, defaulting on debts, or generally being manipulative or acting in bad faith are usually ok. You can also start the c&f process early to make sure everything gets sorted out by the time you graduate law school. Of course, this is only my opinion. You would have to ask a lawyer specializing in c&f issues for real advice.contrapositive1 wrote:

In either case, I wouldn't hire OP. I have approximately zero sympathy (and that's rounding up).

I would talk to a lawyer who handles C&F issues. What you were accused doesn't sound good.

Fortunately for you, I am not in charge of law school admissions. I would, quite honestly, take Tulane's murderer first.contrapositive1 wrote:So in other words, law schools will flat our reject me?

I would consult with a C&F attorney before applying to law school. You might get in, but then if you can't sit for the bar what is the point?contrapositive1 wrote:I must be clear. I was NEVER arrested nor charged with anything.
The police were involved. They detained me, questioned me, then released me. They said there was not enough evidence to convict me of a crime. My university did not feel the same way, and so, gave me three (3) sanctions.

OP, you're a URM with a 3.9. Your stats are good so who knows, I sure as hell have no idea if you'd get admitted to schools or not. A non-consensual sex policy is obviously pretty bad whether you got arrested or not. Then again, it depends on exactly what happened.

Getting into law school and not the bar would be pretty terrible, so you should make sure you are fully informed.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
