Recommendation Question

Post by max_p » Sat Jan 05, 2013 1:02 pm

So I'm currently a junior who just got back from a semester abroad. I have a professor from the overseas program who I would love to write me a LOR. Is it too early to ask for a LOR? Will law schools that I'm applying to in September care if they see a LOR dated in January or February? I would like to ask for the letter now because I obviously can't speak to this professor on a regular basis, and I figured the letter would be more valuable if the professor's memory of my work is more fresh.

Law schools aren't going to care. Go ahead and get the LOR.

Good luck!

Get it now, while they still remember you the best. I'm pretty sure one of mine was a year and a half old. Although, to be fair, I have no idea how adcomms will look at it.

They actually seem to prefer if you have LORs that traverse a span of time gives them a better sense of who you are....
