Completing Application at Columbia before all LORs?

Post by Skier » Mon Dec 17, 2012 11:31 am

So this is my first post on here.

What is the consequence/advantage/disadvantage of checking the box "No" on columbia's LSAC app that says "If you answered "Yes," please indicate if you would like us to delay the completion of your file until all letters of recommendation are received by our office. If you answered "No," we will complete your application upon receipt of the first two letters of recommendation."

What exactly does this mean for the review process?

I realize this information is elsewhere but I didn't see it. If someone can point me in the right direction for the answer that would be cool too.

It's a matter of when the AdComm reviews your file. They won't know it's coming unless you tell them, so they will assume it's not if you check no and just review your file like normal. Checking yes will delay their review until they get the letters.
