Meeting with admissions

Post by matt690 » Wed Jan 04, 2012 12:46 am

Hi,

If I meet with admissions for questions (probably what would be considered an informal interview), is there an appropriate attire? Jacket? Sweater? Jeans? Khakis or slacks?

Also, is will schools take into consideration if an applicant met with admissions and visited and/or toured?

Thanks so much.

I visited admissions in a suit, but that was only because I had my off campus NU interview afterwards. Another guy was in a jacket and khakis. I really don't think it matters what you wear, if I didn't have a formal interview afterwards I would have wore jeans and a t-shirt.

I think meeting with admissions before acceptance is a waste of time unless you are really unsure of how to tailor your application to that specific school.

It depends on the setting where you'll be meeting them.

In an office: business professional.
In a coffee shop: business casual.

Unless they specify otherwise.
