Question about ED and deferral

Post by senorhosh » Mon Oct 03, 2011 4:41 pm

Let's say you ED to school X.
And you apply to school Y.

You end up getting into both. But for one reason or another (family circumstance, economy, etc.), you want to go to school Y.
Can you defer school Y and attend the next year (provided the deferral is granted)? Or would the binding ED contract to school X bind you so you can't defer school Y?

Once the ED decision is rendered your applications to all other schools will be removed. It's usually done without you notifying them as far as I know.

You could always just not go to law school in 2012 and reapply to school Y then I suppose. If you got in this year your application should be even stronger next year.
