Getting app in before LORs = bad mistake

Postby ktc88 » Tue Mar 01, 2011 5:53 pm

I work a full time job and only really decided I wanted to go to law school in January. Soon enough I had everything ready to go except a LOR from one of my managers.

It took me awhile to get it and I overnighted it to LSAC last week. They processed it today.

The school I want to go to accepts applications late into the spring but they say they prioritize apps in by March 1.

I called LSAC and they told me they don't update the school until March 7, even though my LOR is just sitting there processed.

Yet if I had just waited to submit my app today they would have gotten everything today. Moral of the story: To anyone submitting their apps late, if you submit before your LORs are processed this could happen to you. Not sure why I paid them upwards of $100 for CAS and they can't just forward the letters to the school when they are processed.

Edit: Do you guys think it is appropriate for me to write them a letter explaining the delay, and that I have a high level of interest in attending?
