Does Fordham have the prestige of a T14 law school?
Fordham is ranked 30th in TLS' Law School Rankings, yet it seems to harbor the same level of pre-2010 employment prospects (as reported on NALP) as many T-14 law schools.
If it is true that Fordham has the degree of prestige of a T-14, what makes it so? Its location in NYC?

You should only go to Fordham if you want to be a Supreme Court clerk.

Re: Does Fordham have the prestige of a T14 law school?
No. And it doesnt really have anywhere near the same employment prospects. That said, it does have a decent amount of prestige. Probably more than TLS or US News gives it IMO. Its every bit as good as schools that are ranked around #20.

Lots of cocky douche bags on here..... Fordham is not on the level of T 14 but for NYC big law it is probably one of the best options outside of T14 and I would rather take my chances at Fordham than live like a cave troll in Ithaca.... Let the people on here flame me but know OP that Fordham will beat out all of the #28s, #27, #26, all of #22s, #21, #20, #18 and both #15s at NYC Big Law. NYC big law likes to take it in the back door from Fordham. To all who say otherwise they are just wrong and probably ugly.ComatoseClown wrote:Fordham is ranked 30th in TLS' Law School Rankings, yet it seems to harbor the same level of pre-2010 employment prospects (as reported on NALP) as many T-14 law schools.

Translation: Fordham (a regional school) does better in NYC than other regional schools that are in different regions.predent/prelaw wrote:Lots of cocky douche bags on here..... Ok so Fordham which is in NYC will beat out non t14 schools that aren't in NYC for NYC. Great.predent/prelaw wrote:Lots of cocky douche bags on here..... Maybe Georgetown, since both schools have huge part-time programs, are Jesuit, and are cash-poor institutions in high CoL cities.

No.
That said: Family member on Vault 100 firm's hiring committee said I should go to Fordham instead of Georgetown if I wanted to go back to NY. So there's that.

Re: Does Fordham have the prestige of a T14 law school?
Answer to the OP question: No. It has the prestige of a regional tier 1 school with little to no respect outside of NYC.
That's not why I posted though, I just wanted to say I love the dynamics of this thread where some Fordham guy decides he's gotta enlighten these uninformed (probably ugly) douches,
Also this thread should have died a while ago.

only to be shown that the douches were actually being douches fully aware of his enlightening point.predent/prelaw wrote: Lots of cocky douche bags on here.....
