This is probably a dumb question, but is there any advantage to paying your seat deposit early? I know first payments aren't due until mid April, but I've noticed that many people on TLS have already paid them?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Seat Deposits
What kind of advantage do you think you can get? You have already been admitted.
Paying your seat deposit early may be a disadvantage when it comes to financial aid. If you need to leverage you wont be able to do it as effectively because the school knows they dont have to lure you anymore since you paid the deposit.

That's what I figured, but I noticed in a thread on TLS that people have already started paying deposits. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.gdane wrote:What kind of advantage do you think you can get? You have already been admitted.

If you pay early, you can withdraw from other schools, and help people on the waitlist get in

Peace of mind--especially if you think that the law school made a mistake in admitting you.
