It really just depends on how strong you stats are. If your above the schools 75 percentile you should still have a shot, if you are below the median I would say your chances arent so good.

By no means an expert, but I would say yes. If you're disappointed in the way your cycle has turned out, don't settle. Take a year off. Get some WE. Retake the LSAT if you need to and reapply.red_alertz wrote:for this year? not going well so far in admissions for me, so thinking abt sending more apps to schools with march 1st as deadline, too late ?

+1, but it's really kinda late dude. If you do, I'd add a "Why X?" essay to the school you really wanna go to so that they know you're very interested.YankeesFan wrote:It really just depends on how strong you stats are. darn it, the applications few months ago drained all my savings, so was too broke to send out a few more apps I wanted, now it came to haunt me

few things:
-general rule of thumb is to ask for a fee waiver before applying to schools, you'd be surprised at how often they give them out.
-take a year off if this cycle isn't working out. if you try and force the issue you will probably regret it down the road. you're better off retaking the LSAT, and reading Anne Ivey's book and sprucing up your application.
i can relate to your situation. i took the feb LSAT last cycle after studying for only a month and tried squeezing my apps in before the deadlines. bad idea, got dinged to every school i applied to (18 dings). i took a year off, raised my LSAT score from a 148 to a 153, and made some big time changes to my apps. needless to say i got into American with numbers way below their 25%iles as well as other schools that i had gotten rejected to last year.

I don't know...normally I'd agree 'too late', but I have letters, emails coming out my EARS from schools saying 'please apply, we've extended the deadline".
Makes me think they don't like what they are getting, so it might be worth it to give it a try. Scholly money is probably gone, though.

you cant read into those emails- if they give you a fee waiver, then give it a shot( you will still have to pay 12 to lsac). if you ahve to pay the fee plus 12 ( lsac) i would say no.
If you dont like your cycle, you have to assess what you can do to make it stronger, fix it, re evaluate your school choices and try again. You can apply to a school more than once ( i applied late last cycle- got rejected, made my app stronger and got in with money). its not a big deal
Just dont rush this process. Its a major life decision. 12 more months isnt that long in the grand scheme of things.

Re: is it too late to apply now?
If you would prefer attending this cycle, then try to get fee waivers and apply. I don't see a downside as long as finances aren't a problem. Many schools have not finalized decisions for a majority of applicants (same for scholarships). I agree that, in general, it's better to apply early rather than late, but I've seen examples of people being accepted to targets when applying in February.

Depends on where you're applying to. I hit some lower T2 schools last year around this time and managed to get scholarship money from a couple.
I had a high LSAT and a low GPA (split), so my case was different -- but depending on what the school is looking for (GPA Boost, LSAT boost) and what you have to offer you may just get lucky. Call admissions and ask if you still have a decent shot. Most places are friendly and will give you a helpful answer.
Don't give up. But time is burning, so get on it.
