Cardozo Law Phone Interview 2011

Post by Hank Chill » Wed Jan 12, 2011 11:35 am

I got an email yesterday from the dean of admissions requesting my phone number and a specific time from a pool of dates for a phone interview. I've only heard that Harvard does this. Has anyone else received a similar request? Does this mean that they are on the fence regarding my candidacy?

Participating in this may help you get into Cardozo if you are a good conversationalist. If you fear awkwardness on the phone then I would avoid.

From a self-respect standpoint I would show some spine and not do it. First, how much should one need to grovel for entrance to the 4th best law school in Manhattan? Getting in or not getting in to Cardozo will not make or break one's legal career or life in any respect. Second, they want to get a sense of whether or not you are an aspie type or whether you can carry on a conversation with them. I would find that insulting. Personally I would tell them that I have applied to a number of schools and been accepted by several and at this stage in the process I do not have time to take up individualized requests and they are welcome to accept or reject based on the application in front of them.
