Should I retake?

Post by jr57 » Fri Jan 07, 2011 10:50 pm

Just got my Dec LSAT score...159. My GPA's 3.71 (magna at my school).

I was hoping to apply this cycle, but I feel like I could score higher on the LSAT. Since it's so late in the cycle, I'm considering putting it off until next year and retake in June. Would it be worth applying this cycle AND retaking for the next cycle? How do schools look upon repeat applicants? I finished undergrad in 2009, so I'd prefer to start sooner than later, but I'd appreciate whatever input you have.

Schools I'm applying to:
Ohio State
Pitt
Wash & Lee
UNC-Chapel Hill (reach)
Notre Dame (reach)
Indiana-Bloomington (reach)

Was this your first time? How much prep did you do? Do you feel like you could do better? Was there some particular aspect of this December's test that you think resulted in this score? These are the questions you need to ask yourself.
