Addendum after submitting app?

Postby talkingdonkey » Sat Nov 13, 2010 8:29 pm

Background: my first semester of my freshman year I fell seriously ill and left school early in the semester to recover. I returned to school the very next semester and still graduated on time. I included this information in an addendum I submitted to schools who asked if there had ever been an interruption of my studies; I did not, however, include it for those schools who did not ask. My transcript currently shows that I withdrew my classes that first semester, but not an explanation for it. Do you think it would be worthwhile to contact the admissions offices of those schools that did not ask and explain the reason for the withdrawals before they begin reviewing my application? I have a 3.76/171 and am applying to most of the t14, so I'm looking to protect against any negatives that I can. Thanks
