"Was your academic experience interrupted for any reason"

Post by lolok » Thu Oct 28, 2010 7:57 pm

I'm unsure how to answer this question on applications...I took a semester "off" to intern when I was a junior, but I took a class online during this time period, so I was actually still enrolled in school (but for just 3 credits). Does this merit checking the "yes" box and writing a short addendum?

sounds like your academic experience was modified rather than interrupted. I say no.

Unless you received credit for your internship, you'll have a gap in your transcript where you only have this one 3 credit course. While the internship might be on your resume, it might not be apparent to the adcomm what was going on there. It wouldn't hurt to write a short explanation for that semester just to make sure they are on the same page.
