How much does it help to get a LOR from a former Governor who graduated from the school you are applying too?
Assuming the Governor knows you decently well.
...I know numbers are everything just wondering if I should pursue it.
Thanks!!!

If he knows you well, have him call the dean too. I am far from an expert of any sort, but just seems like it would stand out a lot more than just a letter.

I would read this:

Take note of the Yale response. I agree with the above poster that a call from the Governor would mean much more than a letter. If you have X number of recommended LOR spots I would submit X + 1 LORs (including the Governor), and make sure to have other solid LORs from people who were direct academic or work supervisors.
