Questions about networking

Post by doubled99 » Mon Jun 21, 2010 6:52 pm

I'm not positive that this is the right forum for this question, but...

I have read a lot about people suggesting working on your networking with the lawyers you know before you start 1L. In my case, I moved quite a bit away for school and so I was wondering what most people would suggest for myself. I stay in contact with a few lawyers from my original area, but now I don't know anyone, literally. Any suggestions? I'm not trying to be any kind of gunner or over preparer, I just want to make sure that I am doing the rights things to put myself in a situation to succeed.

Ask the lawyers that you know from your old area if they happen to know any lawyers or professionals in your new area. Ask them to help you get in contact with them and that you're trying ot meet new ppl in the area and get a feel for the place. This really will only work though if you at least have somewhat of a good relationship with the ppl from your old area. If your just aquaintances then idk how much help they'll help you. Also, do you have any old friends in the area you're moving to? If so, talk with them and see who they know.
