I am debating two different scenarios:
1) Buy a new iMac for home and a netbook/cheap full-size laptop for classes/exams.
2) Buy a new Mac Book Pro and get a nice 24" external monitor for a couple hundred bucks.
I want to have the best set-up possible at the place where I will be doing most of my work, which is home. If a netbook is pass-able for note/exam-taking, Option 1 seems awfully attractive.

I think the answer depends on you. I personally don't like small ass computers so if I chose option 1 I would go with a nice cheap laptop not a netbook to go along with my iMac.
I plan to buy a MacBook Pro and then just buy or build a nice Windows based desktop with dual or triple screens. I am also going to have Windows running on my Mac so I don't have to worry about non-Mac affiliated stuff. Good luck with your decision.

When I clicked on this/read the title, I thought it was one of today's test takers returning from battle.
