Oh shit, Vaccine issue...
My stupid parents can't find any of my medical records and don't remember one of the doctors who gave me the hep B etc.. vaccinations. Basically, I've done them all but don't know if I can get a record of it. Am I fucked (like, do I seriously have to get vaccinated again)?

The state also retains immunization records for you.

Wouldn't any one of your doctors have the record for all 3 vaccines? What about your UG? They might have your records on file.

Reach out to your undergrad institution. They should have a record of you getting shots from when you entered undergrad, and that could point you towards the doctor who administered the shots.

Re: Oh shit, Vaccine issue...
Thing is I did some of that shit while I was living in Dubai.
Alright, I think I can show some lab records with positive immunity for most of the vaccinations, except for the Polio and tetanus. So basically, can I go to a doctor and get bloodwork or something done that can prove that I'm immune or something, or can that only be proven with actual record of a shot?

Man those shots are going to be painful if I seriously need to do them again. What did I do to deserve this? lol.

Re: Oh shit, Vaccine issue...
I just went through the same thing with vaccines. I think there are going to be two options. One, your pediatrician gave you the vaccine. He is probably part of a medical group which will still have the records (I was able to get mine from 1977 even though my dr. was retired). There are a limited amount of these groups, so a little bit of calling around might yield the answer.
The second option is you got the vaccine at a clinic. I don't know how they keep records, but I am sure they do. I would imagine if you called around you might be able to find the record, but I have no experience with them.
I know this isn't much to go on, but there is hope. Good luck.

Ok, good news! I can arrange for a blood test to establish immunity for almost all of them. Sweet. So worst comes to worst, I only need to take two painful shots. Fuck you mom. Fuck you.

Get a bloodtest. If you were vaccinated, you have the antibodies. If you weren't vaccinated, and you still have the antibodies, you're fine. Send the school a copy of your bloodwork and they will accept it.

I was in the same position: had had the vaccinations, but no records. I went to the school's clinic on arrival and they took some blood and confirmed immunity.

This. I had chicken pox back in the day before the varicella vaccine so I obviously couldn't prove to my UG that I'd been vaccinated, so I had to get bloodwork to show I was positive for varicella antibodies. If you can't recall the place and date of your last tetanus and MMR, it won't hurt you to get boosters.kmap wrote:Get a bloodtest. If you were vaccinated, you have the antibodies. Which department? I, too, am having an issue with this, since it was 30 freaking years ago.
This is so stupid.

I don't get this thread. What schools require immunization records?

Am I the only person out there that unhesitatingly checks off the vaccination exemption box when confronted with this sort of bureaucratic boondoggle?

All schools in states that require it. NY is one of the states that requires students at its schools to comply with its vaccination requirements. I don't know what other states demand this.MrKappus wrote:I don't get this thread. What schools require immunization records?

Since I go to law school and have not been asked for immunization records, you're clearly, how to put this...not right.clintonius wrote:...all of them?MrKappus wrote:I don't get this thread. What schools require immunization records?
