I don't know if this is a silly question, but how are part time candidates evaluated compared to full time candidates? Does the same committee look at the applications? Are the candidates for part time admission put into a different pool so that with, say, 500 candidates applying for part time, as opposed to 3,000-4,000 for full time, it's easier to stand out?
It seems like it'd be easier to get into a part time program, at least at some schools, because there are fewer people applying and because the stats of those admitted seems to be slightly lower.
