Notre Dame vs. Illinois Forum

It is unbelievable how much people talk about life at Notre Dame on these forums when they haven't even been here...I'm an undergrad at ND, and I really had no idea that our student life is 'controlled by the Catholic Church.' I was raised Catholic but I am completely non-religious now, and this has never affected my life here one bit. If this is the reason you might not consider ND, I really think you should come visit, take in the atmosphere here, and you'll see that all of the stereotypes on forums like this one are quite far from the truth.
