I would, but Columbia's email also had a virus embedded in it that wiped out my hard drive. I'm posting from my phone.cubswin wrote:So, can someone post the entire e-mail that people are paraphrasing?

Dear haydee, cubswin wrote:So, can someone post the entire e-mail that people are paraphrasing?
We congratulate you and share your excitement that a major hurdle?the LSAT?in the law school application process has been completed. In that regard, your name was forwarded to us by the Candidate Referral Service of The Law School Data Assembly Service, in which you had earlier agreed to participate. On the basis of your performance on the LSAT only, you have been identified as a prospective law school applicant who, on that criterion alone, has demonstrated a capability to contribute to and benefit from a legal education of the first order.
We are writing to encourage you carefully to consider applying to Columbia Law School for admission to our 2011 entering class. Since we have invited you to apply for admission to Columbia, we are waiving the usually required application fee of $80. In order to take advantage of this opportunity, kindly apply through the LSAC online application at http://www.lsac.org, where the fee will be automatically waived.
This letter of encouragement applies only to those who have not yet submitted an application to our Law School. We also should emphasize that this letter does not imply that our Admissions Committee would necessarily take favorable action on your candidacy if you apply, as many factors other than an applicant's LSAT score are evaluated by Columbia in reaching a decision. For more information about Columbia Law School, our admissions philosophy, and application, please visit our website at http://www.law.columbia.edu/admissions.
Best wishes for success with all your law school applications. We look forward to reviewing your candidacy for admission to Columbia Law School.
Warm wishes,
Nkonye Iwerebon
Dean of Admissions

Not only that but it also sends a copy of the virus to everybody in your contact list with a spam email titled Columbia Fee Waiver.Marionberry wrote:I would, but Columbia's email also had a virus embedded in it that wiped out my hard drive. Maybe it's high LSATs and not quite as high GPAs? I don't understand...

Columbia hath forsaken me as well, and every time I recheck for a hidden waiver, I die a little inside. So it goes. FWIW, I took the LSAT in 2009 too.dulcatis wrote:Me too!acrossthelake wrote:I'm above the LSAT 75th and I didn't get one.mfeller2 wrote:Columbia fee waiver by e-mail. I took the LSAT in February, so I think they just don't like me.

OH MY GOD.
My boyfriend, who took the LSAT twice when he was potentially going to apply to law school, and got a 171 and then 170, and who has no LSAC GPA or anything, got a Columbia fee waiver ;__________;

I wish someone who had a look in the inside would describe how the CRS searches are/can be limited. HOOOO-BOY is what I say.dulcatis wrote:OH MY GOD.

I didn't get a Columbia waiver, 170/3.95. However...that 170 is my 2nd test, my first was 164, so maybe they're averaging all scores?
I think I'm gonna shoot them an e-mail.

I have a 173 (one test only), so I don't know what's up with them :/
I'll probably just suck it up and e-mail them though...

I don't know if the fee waiver offers are as systematic as we'd expect. I got one last year with a lower GPA for Columbia but didn't get one this year.
But for the OP- University of Texas hidden fee waiver yesterday (9/13)

No love from UCLA though. Has anyone had success emailing the admissions office and requesting a waiver?

Texas hidden...very nice. I was planning on paying full price since I'd heard they didn't give out fee waivers.
