Oh, and another great thing about St. Louis. 2nd biggest Mardi Gras celebration in the US. Just thought I'd throw that out there, because we will have to get a Mardi Gras party going next year.

Mardi Gras...WONDERFUL! As for housing...I'm kind of looking for a nicer place, regardless of what it costs, I filled out the roommate questionnaire, but from first look, there wasn't anyone on there that "clicked" with me. Oh well. I found some incredible complexes and buildings within 5 miles of campus. Just saying..

So when does everyone expect to move up (or down) to St. Louis? I really want to enjoy that month or so before school starts, and my life outside the law ceases to exist.

I'll be there sometime in June, because my SO's job has a July 1 start. I REALLY regret leaving Seattle just when it is getting beautiful here.

I bet it is nice there in the summer. That's a place that I've always wanted to spend about a year, or so, living. Although once the Sonics leave it will be ever so slightly less appealing.LabRat wrote:I'll be there sometime in June, because my SO's job has a July 1 start. I plan on settling in a week before orientation. I can't wait to figure out exactly where that'll be.

I'm tentatively planning on early August, but I haven't even gone apartment searching.

I'll be in St. Louis beginning in mid-June (living with my parents), and then hopefully finding an apartment near the school and settling there in mid-August. So yeah, I'll be in St. Louis nearly the whole summer.
Glad to be a part of the TLS WUSTL class of '11. And I am very encouraged that half of this thread was spent discussing the Lumiere casino, mardi gras, and various bars haha, sounds like I'm with the right crowd. Can't wait to meet ya all

I'm game for a little pre-orientation get together, but I have a feeling I'll become quickly lost in all the discussions regarding sports. Only sport I really watch is soccer, and even then, not fanatical about it.

I mean, there'll only be baseball, and football going on. Horrible conditions to start off the first year of law school with...or is it the best conditions possible? Hmm..ludwig wrote:I'm game for a little pre-orientation get together, but I have a feeling I'll become quickly lost in all the discussions regarding sports. Well, as long as you don't try to learn the game by watching it...you'll probably fall asleep and wonder why the games never get past the 4th inning!ludwig wrote:I guess I should do some research and learn a bit about baseball and what not lol

Alright, so something like that we can start discussing on here come August. I don't care where the discussion leads, as long as it's not law, right? We'll be doing plenty of that come Aug 25. I know it's been said already, but there is a group for our class on facebook now. It's up to 30 people or so. Just a way to communicate with each other as well, and figure out who we are besides an avatar and username.

I've been trying to find the facebook group so I can join, but I haven't been able to find it. Does anyone have a link, or at least the exact name of the group?

I must say I don't love the baseball bashing, but I am very excited about meeting everyone. We don't have to talk sports, but, like hwmyones said, we have to NOT talk law.

Hey man, I like baseball too but you have to admit some guy who doesn't know what he's watching is probably going to fall asleep half-way through the game.smc5784 wrote:I must say I don't love the baseball bashing, but I am very excited about meeting everyone. It's going to be hard to go to such a baseball town. I like baseball, I play lots of fantasy baseball, but I won't lie, I'm from South Florida, I'm a marlins fan. We come around every 6 years when our young players get together to go on a world series run. Otherwise, we are, and always will be a football town. But, with the Dolphins sucking, and the Hurricanes in a relapse, Go Blues? Nope, hockey is a joke as well. Guess we'll just have to form the WULSBPL. (Washington University Law School Beer Pong League). Draft is Aug. 16, 2008 at 9PM.

I'll be cheering for the Cards when they're not playing the Cubs, or in a divisional race against the Cubs.

I got a studio in the CWE. Not the nicest of places, but it had the amenities I was looking for for the price I was looking for, and in a pretty cool area, I think.maddox wrote:Yay WashU!
