If the Mariners had been around longer, they'd be on a 100 year drought too. :X Stupid Mariners...I hoped they'd be at least *decent* to make up for the Sonics.greygoose wrote:hey, we aren't the ones on a 100 year drought over here buddy!
(on the bright side, so far, I'm not at loggerheads with any of you, since you're all Nat'l League people

Definitely.I'm looking at the Avemore as we speak (literally). If you go down tomorrow, could you report back on how the complex is (aesthetics, location, etc..) and how bad the construction is? It's kind of hard to do from Florida.
That sucks, but I'm a bit more concerned about the noise factor. My cousin's apartment in NY is in a similar situation with a complex being built next to it, and being there during the day is borderline torturous.Well you won't have a view.
Not sure, but it's one of the big ones on the right side, or closest to the construction. And I think the apartment faces the construction.which building?

Well i think dealing with the construction will depend on your living habits.
They'll be working during the day, so if you're the kind of person who studies in the library, then it might not matter a bunch. If you want to study at home, then I would look elsewhere or try to get into a different area of the complex.

i don't doubt it, but most likely you'll get a top pick of beasley or rose so the sonics will get decent next season. however, they might not be in seattle much longer...shadowfish wrote:If the Mariners had been around longer, they'd be on a 100 year drought too. :X Stupid Mariners...I hoped they'd be at least *decent* to make up for the Sonics.greygoose wrote:hey, we aren't the ones on a 100 year drought over here buddy!

I've been lurking on the UVA class of 2011 board for a while. Since you all seem like a pretty fun group, I finally decided to come out of the shadows and say hello.
Can't wait to meet you all in August!

Sounds like fishing...We got another one!
I'm in Baltimore now, I'm going to go look at housing for myself and my horse in 2 weeks (this is tentative). I am limited because I have a dog, and evidently no rental managers/owners like dogs

Welcome aboard the boards, ejones60! Are you really moving down with your horse, 'cause 'm pretty sure my son will let you play with his laser-tag game if he can play with your horse (and his laser-tag game is rather a hot commodity to the TLS community)...

I understand your concerns about the dog, but you might have an even harder time explaining that the second bedroom is for your horse...ejones60 wrote:Sounds like fishing...We got another one!

C-ville is actually very dog friendly. I doubt you'll have trouble finding a place that will accept your dog. What about that horse though?ejones60 wrote:Sounds like fishing...We got another one!

Welcome! Tkm and I are also both in Baltimore... who knew there would be so many of us. I have a dog as well, and I am living at the Woodlands. They allow dogs up to 50 pounds, as do a lot of other places.ejones60 wrote:Sounds like fishing...We got another one!

OnceLost, your son can have unlimited rides on my horse, free of laser tag surcharge (mainly because I think I'd make a HUGE fool out of myself trying to be stealthy and what not).
For fellow students, payment will be accepted in the form of notes
...
Seriously though, the horse has approximately 978,632 options for where to live in Charlottesville. The place is lousy with stables. Most of them are gorgeous too. I'm actually more excited about horse house shopping than house shopping for me.

I would love to meet up with you guys!!! but not tomorrow. I have a competition that I am leaving for tomorrow mid-day. I won't be back until Friday night.
Are either of you at Hopkins? If you do happen to be at the nerdiest school ever, I'll see you at graduation!

Cantwait -- the Woodlands recommends just calling the day before to turn on electric and water. I'd ask Avemore what most people do there.

FYI, that's not how it's pronounced. It's like Yeager, minus the Y. And yes, I've gotten that since like, 5th grade...greygoose wrote:eager to graduate are we? eager to attend uva?i'm sorry i couldn't resist...
