thanks, all! I'm just starting to look (as in browsing Craigslist), and I was a bit intimidated. Definitely going to take a closer look at Somerville.

Signed an apartment lease this morning, so there's definitely no turning back now! Anyone planning to move out to Cambridge a few weeks early? We should all get together before school starts

How long after TS2 did your status checker switch from Application Under Review to sth else?
And how long after TS2 did you receive your HLS packet/acceptance letter?
Thanks!

122! Law school is seeming more and more like a cross between freshman year of college and summer camp. Except for that whole tons of work part...

#33!!! So, is it first come first serve within the group who chooses on the same date as I (May 7th) or will I get my choice of housing before #34?

It's sort of first come first served - but you can get bumped off by somebody with a better lotto number than you.

I'm also choosing rooms tomorrow and I'm trying to choose between the different Gropius options. Does anyone know if there is a difference in quality between the different Gropius dorms (Ames, Dane, etc). Also has anyone seen any of the Type 2 or 3 rooms? Is the difference in size worth the extra 100/month?

I'm supposed to be picking today myself, but I can't get the link in my e-mail to work (goes to a document not found website on HLS's website), so I'm not exactly sure how to access the lottery system. Anyone else get that link to work?

Does anyone know what the best way is to find a roommate for off-campus housing? I'm trying to decide if I should find another 1L to live with or get a studio near campus...

Those who are picking today: how does the situation look? Any dorms already almost full? I'm picking on Friday, but am curious as to what my options may be.

Try HLS Sidebar, or also maybe through the facebook group HLS Class of 2011.MAIBDeeDee wrote:Does anyone know what the best way is to find a roommate for off-campus housing? I'm trying to decide if I should find another 1L to live with or get a studio near campus...

You should have an email about it in your HLS email account - it's basically a social networking thing where you can see profiles for other people from HLS - and people can check a box to indicate that they are looking for roommates.MAIBDeeDee wrote:Thanks! Also, you can join HL Central, and hook up with people in that way.

Thanks for the help! I actually got the email about it right after I posted. Luckily, I was able to select my room before the system crashed.CallMeCrazy wrote:https://www.law.harvard.edu/cgi-bin/housingbrokendowncar wrote:Will you post the link? Re: Harvard Law Class of 2011
Thanks again! Turns out that I never got the invite to HLS Sidebar, but I e-mailed Toby Stock and now I'm set up. There really don't seem to be that many incoming 1Ls looking for roommates, but I guess I'll figure something out...snap wrote:You should have an email about it in your HLS email account - it's basically a social networking thing where you can see profiles for other people from HLS - and people can check a box to indicate that they are looking for roommates.MAIBDeeDee wrote:Thanks! You might also want to try the HRES roommate finder.

Most of the people on there will probably end up in the Harvard Affiliated housing but I'm sure some of them are still looking and wouldn't be opposed to living in a regular apartment.
