Scholarship Interview

Post by erickt88 » Sat Jan 10, 2015 8:12 pm

I have a scholarship interview coming up. I already received a considerable amount of scholarship aid, however, I am being considered for an additional scholarship for which I have to attend an interview. How should one prepare for such an interview? What kind of questions should I prepare for?

Also, is wearing a suit fine?

Thank you.

How to prepare should be fairly obvious and straightforward:

1. Is it a focused scholarship? If so, what it the focus? International Law? People who want to be legal academics? Public Interest Law? etc etc etc.
2. If it is a scholarship you applied for, go over your statement and be prepared to elaborate on it.
3. If it's a merit scholarship that you did not specifically apply for, go on the website and read about the scholarship, read the bios of current and former recipients, try to figure out which faculty (if any) seem most closely associated with the scholarship and learn what their research interests are.
4. Prepare questions to ask - they can be about anything related to the scholarship and don't have to be things you are actually interested in - you just need some questions up your sleeve.
5. Of course you wear a suit.
