Worth filling out a "Need Access" form?

Post by sach1282 » Mon Oct 03, 2011 5:19 pm

Hey, I'm just wondering whether I should bother paying the $28 for Need Access or whether my parents income would automatically disqualify me?

Relevant info:

My parents are divorced, my mother is over 60 and my father is over 70, both on the verge of retirement.
Father's current income: $215,000
Mother's current income: $35,000
Personal Assets: $60,000 in a "college fund" my parents set up for me that I never needed because I decided to go to a state school.

Is there any other relevant information I'm not mentioning? Worth feeling out the Need Access?

Yes, you should it out. Why? Because some schools which give merit based scholarships will only give them to those that have filled out needaccess forms. Don't buy into the combined need and merit, for the most part these are merit based and you should expect to get one if you are a good candidate.
