TRIALS Applicants 2011
Hey there, is anyone else applying to this program this year? Or has anyone applied before? Just wondering.

unless i am mistaken, but isnt this program for undergraduates. I think most ppl on this site are out of undergrad or finishing it up.

I know... That's what I've learned as well. When I first read about it I thought I had discovered this huge secret... Not true at all. 5,000 applicants its first year. Where are you applying from? We should exchange PSs if you're down.chiach1 wrote:Im applying to it. Im currently in the process of writing my personal statement to it. I've been told (and seen through evidence) that its extremely competitive and very hard to get into. Best of luck to both of us....
Technically. It's geared towards undergraduates and I'm fairly certain that the adcoms prefer undergraduate candidates; but it's open to anyone basically. There is also a preference for URMs.pattonthicke wrote:unless i am mistaken, but isnt this program for undergraduates. I think most ppl on this site are out of undergrad or finishing it up.
Chiach, are you close to finishing? Apps are due soon...

Yup. I just have to finish my PS.chiach1 wrote:Yea Im basically done with the app. The app was actually pretty short. I just need to tighten and revise my ps within this coming week and I'll have everything in. Also Im applying from a school in NJ.
Yourself?
I actually had to call my admissions office today to get my old ACT scores. I hope that those scores aren't weighed too heavily. I scored okay (and definitely above average when compared to other URMs) but I didn't know anything about test prep in high school, so I don't think I scored my best. The concept of actually studying for entrance exams is relatively new for me (yay for poor, uneducated peeps!) so it'll suck if I'm judged greatly...

Do you have a link to the program?
nvm.

Wow! Looks great and I will have to share it with my undergraduate friends. Doesn't get too much hype from my undergrad, and it should.

The Final Round :Applicants will be notified of a decision by April 15th.

I know, right? I'm fairly positive I'm not going to get in, but at least I tried. Oh well. I guess we'll see!
There's not a lot of buzz out there like there was last year. I'm fairly certain tons of people have applied though. I feel like that 5,000 applicants number might be a little exaggerated though.
