Cardozo Law vs. St. John's Law

Post by christianro » Thu Mar 31, 2016 12:02 am

Hi, I took my LSAT three times, and unfortunately I got the same score of 160 all three times. I got into St. John's with 50k scholarship and Cardozo Law with 44k scholarship. Both schools' tuition is around 54k. I will be commuting for both schools. St. John's is a 15 minute drive and Cardozo Law is 1 hour and 20 minute away with public transport. I will be financing my COA with loans. Any input and wisdom would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much, I sincerely appreciate it.

Ideally, I would like to become a prosecutor.

Since you took the LSAT 3 times and cannot retake, I would go to St. John's. Both schools have a similar reputation, and St. John's is closer and cheaper. I think you need to be prepared for the worst, though. Many students at both schools cannot find legal jobs. You will be taking a risk at both schools. If you understand the risk and you decide that you really want to be a lawyer and it's worth it regardless, then go to St. John's. You can do well if youre at the top of your class, but many students are not sitting pretty. Best of luck!
Thank you sir. Appreciate your insight.
